WSOP Main Event Final Table set

The Final table is set:

Official November Nine Chip Counts and Seat Assignments
On November 9th, 2008, the following nine players will return to the felt with 21 minutes and 50 seconds left in level 33:
Dennis Phillips - 26,295,000
Craig Marquis - 10,210,000
Ylon Schwartz - 12,525,000
Scott Montgomery - 19,690,000
Darus Suharto - 12,520,000
David 'Chino' Rheem - 10,230,000
Ivan Demidov - 24,400,000
Kelly Kim - 2,620,000
Peter Eastgate - 18,375,000

These 9 lucky 'unknowns' will get to take home 900K each for 9th place $$$, but will have to wait until November to play out the final table. Actually, I'm sure in the coming months each one of these guy's 'story' will come out, but for now, Scott Montgomery is the only one I recognize, since he was at the final table of the LA Poker Classic, won by Phil Ivey this year.

Most of you know that the good Dr was on absolute fire with his writing for this years WSOP. His entry yesterday regarding Tiffany Michelle was classic stuff.

He stated that she was poker's hottest commodity right now. That statement was spot on. He couldn't have said it better. That was the story. Had she made the final 9, we would have had all hell breaking lose for the next 3 months, and perhaps Harrah's decision to postpone the final table, would have been seen as genius. But as you all know by now, she didn't make it. Now it's wait and see what they can do with the so call hype, for the remaining 9 unknown. The only back story that may make this interesting, is if this takes a Soprano like turn. We shall have to wait and see.

But frankly, I've lost interest. Again as Pauly stated, the air was completely let out of the balloon when "Hot Chips" busted. That was the story.

Hey Fred, also note that 6 of the 9 final table players qualified through PokerStars. Now that is an impressive marketing feat by that poker room.

Thanks for the plug!

I agree Pauly did an excellent job writing throughout the whole WSOP.

I'm going to have to find out more about the final 9 as I'm sure most of us, save for their families, don't know much about them.

Tiffany not making the final table hurt me.

PokerStars was responsible for 6 of the 9? That is pretty good dang good!
